A beautiful degustation with matching wines at very reasonable price $150pp. Food was fantastic and service was attentive. Wine was perfectly paired as well. We will definitely return when the seasonal menu swaps over. My favourite was the pork and scallop course and the duck breast. More

We were celebrating a special occasion and made the decision to have dinner at the waters edge. We chose the 3-course meal in a private dome. To begin with, I must say that the 3 stars are exclusively for the food. The food was outstanding, beautifully arranged, generous portions, and utterly delightful. However, the service, on the other hand, deserves a -2 star rating!
Our reservation was at 2030, and it had rained before we arrived. When we got there, there was no warm welcome; we were simply led into a dome with a single table lamp. The moment I stepped into the dome, I was greeted by a musty smell of dampness, and there was no ventilation. It was quite unpleasant. The server took our orders, and the food arrived in a timely manner. Nevertheless, it did not provide a fine dining experience. It was clear that the servers were not trained in Fine Dining Etiquette. They seemed uninterested, and even the manager appeared indifferent. After we finished our meals, no one asked if everything was satisfactory or if we had enjoyed our experience. Not even when I went to pay!
I would not recommend spending money at this place.

We recently celebrated a birthday at Waters Edge venue with a private full‑venue booking, and the entire experience was exceptional. The chef went above and beyond to help us create a truly memorable event, crafting a beautifully balanced fusion menu with generous servings. The service throughout the evening was outstanding, and the staff were consistently responsive, cooperative, and attentive to every detail. The team planned the event with us thoroughly in advance, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
The ambience and atmosphere of the venue are remarkable, and its lakeside location is one of the best in Canberra. The stunning views overlooking the water made the celebration even more special. We are sincerely grateful to the entire Waters Edge team for their talent, professionalism, and hospitality. We wish them continued success and look forward to seeing them keep serving Canberra with such excellence.

WATER’S EDGE, Canberra
A Tastefully-Appointed, Modern-Australian, Fine-Dining Restaurant manned by New-Aussies…are you kidding me !?!
LOVED IT !
After a welcome greeting from Kumar - the Maitre d’ - I enjoyed a reasonably-priced, three-course, set-menu nosing Shiraz.
As for my palette: yes, it was met with convincing antipodean flavour. The black garlic and saltbush additions - with lamb and roo - budded my regional expectations for sure!
Each course tasted of Gondwanaland.
And that view across Lake Burley Griffin - with Mt. Ainslie in the background - what a delight !
As I dined, I watched the catspaw shimmer on Lake BG, while beholden of rich and authentic local taste.
All-in-all at 10…Hop to it and.GO !!!

We had a birthday lunch at Waters Edge Restaurant today for my mother, and everything was absolutely outstanding. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was exceptional from start to finish.
A special mention to Kumar, who was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, he really made the whole experience feel extra special. We also loved the thoughtful touch of adding a candle to my mother’s dessert, which was such a lovely surprise and made her day.
We would highly recommend Waters Edge for lunch or dinner. We honestly couldn’t fault it and we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful high tea experience at Waters Edge. The setting was perfect with sunshine sparkling on the lake and a glass of sparkling to savour. Every bite was delicious- the arancini and the scones were beautifully light inside with a slight crisp on the outside, and the lemon meringue tartlet was the best we’ve ever tasted. The service was friendly and attentive, making it a truly memorable and relaxing afternoon. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special high tea experience by the water.

Unexpected deliciousness at this Canberra restaurant looking peacefully out over the Lake. We ordered an entree and main. The entrees were generous, creative and so tasty. One was stratiacella (spelling?)- key flavours were crispy bread, heirloom tomatoes, fioretti and interestly, peach. The other was the kangaroo, so tender, with beetroot and native pepperberry, truly worth experiencing. For mains, we ordered the duck, and again were wowed by the tenderness and flavour bursts, including apricot puree, cherries and just-charred cauliflower. Highly recommended for delightful dining.
